Questionable Reference?
[edit]Perhaps I am misunderstanding something here, but reference #27 seems to be untrustworthy and I feel as though it doesn't really support what is said per se.

- Agreed; I swapped the sourcing for Ong and Suhartono (2016) and Hazra et al. (2017). Jacob Rampino (talk) 22:46, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
Historical Inaccuracy: Conflation of Hyman Eli Goldberg and Emanuel Goldberg
[edit]The current version of the article is factually incorrect because it conflates two different inventors with similar names. Early character-to-telegraph-code machines were patented by Hyman Eli Goldberg, while Emanuel Goldberg was a separate inventor with distinct contributions; attributing both to Emanuel Goldberg is apparently wrong. This distinction is documented i.a. in the source below. [1] --Sempervirentz (talk) 12:58, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- I took the initiative and corrected both the main article and the timeline accordingly. Sempervirentz (talk) 17:06, 7 October 2026 (UTC)
