It's an acceptable source, they are reporting on what Nintendo has documented as to the pronunciation, and EG is a reliable source. Masem (t) 15:04, 28 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
But many people overwhelmingly pronounce each letter individually, so it doesn't exactly matter what Nintendo says, and besides that Nintendo has used both pronunciations anyway. See . Popcornfud (talk) 17:50, 3 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Found this forum post discussing what I believe is this video. Further down the thread there are the obligatory cheapshots at Wikipedia, but there are a number of corrections to the traditional narratives that appear to be in order. Once I watch the primary source for myself, I’ll take a look to see if there are any corrections that should be made due to previously missing or incorrect info. —pythoncoder (talk|contribs)23:40, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Respectful demand of removal of the controverted picture

I am writing to request the removal or replacement of the image showing the Famicom at the Helsinki Museum. If you look closely at the background, right behind the console, there is a prominent Nazi swastika alongside a Nazi soldier. This imagery adds absolutely nothing to the article. The page already has plenty of other clean images of the Famicom console, so removing this one will harm no one and will not affect the quality of the page.Leaving this image on the article is deeply offensive. Removing it would be a relief to those who find it hurtful, out of respect for the memory of everyone whose families suffered during this terrible historical period. Even Germany itself has banned this image as a lesson in humility, so Wikipedia should do the same and remove this offensive picture from a page about a video game console. That is the Japanese box art for Desert Commander, aka Sensha Senryaku - Sabaku no Kitsune. Not sure why that one was chosen (possibly because it's a somewhat controversial game). I agree there's nothing strictly necessary about that image so I've replaced it with a different image from a museum. One which doesn't seem to have any controversial video games in its background.
