Geographical map

There are lots of maps of proposed plans and/or future extensions, but I don't see any in the article that represents the Métro as it currently exists, with the geographical location of stations. Route diagram templates for individual lines

Each of the individual route diagram templates for each line includes all of the physical infrastructure, including crossovers, pocket tracks, non-revenue connectors between lines, and garage/shop tracks. In my opinion, showing *every* single detail is excessive and greatly bloats the diagrams. I frankly do not think they are necessary and should be removed. However, I have made sure to correct any kind of errors in the meantime. On the other hand, I think retaining major details like the garages/shops are sufficient. Thoughts? I would favour a simple diagram, with Template:Enlarge in appropriate locations to point to smaller-scale track diagrams in regions of interest, like I did with Template:Henri-Bourassa station track diagram (that I still haven't had the time to convert to orange).

For smaller lines, like the Yellow line (L4), I think a full track diagram for the whole line is very reasonable, and that having the extra hierarchy of Enlarge would be a disservice. I think what I did over at Template:Dulles AeroTrain isn't too cramped, and the same could be done with L4. I would favour using real parallel lines like  (vÜSTl) rather than a single line with  (ÜSTl) for that purpose. SomeRailfan (talk) 12:50, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

External link suggestion: interactive bilingual Metro map (COI disclosure)

Disclosure: I have a conflict of interest, as I am connected to the site proposed below. Per WP:COI I am not editing the article myself and leave this entirely to uninvolved editors.

Proposal for the External links section:

• MTL Metro Map, interactive bilingual (English/French) map of the Montreal Metro

Rationale:

• The External links section currently contains no interactive map of the network. The request at #Geographical map (April 2024), asking for something that shows the network as it currently exists with station locations, is still unanswered.
• The site is free, requires no account or app, and covers the Metro, REM and Exo networks at station level.
• It is bilingual EN/FR, matching the subject.
• The equivalent link has been stable in the External links section of fr:Métro de Montréal since 8 August 2026.

I am aware of the WP:ELNO concerns around promotional links and make no claim that this qualifies under WP:ELMAYBE; that judgement is for others. If it is not a good fit, no objection to this being declined. ~2026-45413-77 (talk) 13:26, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

I removed this link from the Wiki a handful of weeks ago. I don't feel like this is necessary. I'd love to hear if other people disagree with my initial feelings about it.
