Sources for biography section

Currently, the biography section lists four sources: Stephen K. Hayes, Bill Griffeth, Mike Lee, Gregory Lee, Legacy of the Night Warrior (1984), Stephen K. Hayes, The Mystic Arts of the Ninja (1985), Peter Lewis, The Way to the Martial Arts (1986), and Vicki León, Uppity Women of Medieval Times (1998). None of these books are written by historians, and they appear to be of poor quality. There must be better sources than this. I've added a tag to the section, which will hopefully attract some attention. Retinalsummer (talk) 15:40, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

not a proper expert myself, but I checked Stephen Turnbull's The Samurai Handbook, and no mention of any person named Mochizuki is made in that book, even though the fourth battle at Kawanakajima receives extended treatment, and a significant samurai who died there should at least be named. also, Chiyome was brought to my attention by pierre françois souyri's recent book on the history of ninja (not translated into english yet, I fear), and he is clear that her story, including her husband, are not attested by any reliable sources.
