He doesn’t play for Daisy Hill FC. Please remove this he is a free agent 81.105.209.77 (talk) 13:30, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: Thanks for raising this issue. This is not my expertise whatsoever, but I saw there was a bit of back-and-forth regarding 'free agent', so I won't touch on that, but I do think that the section on Daisy Hill FC lacks reliable sources. (Maybe an instagram post is considered a reliable source for this wikiproject, but I really doubt it, especially because this falls under wp:blp) I would remove it, but I think @Olyroo should get the chance to explain his edit and add alternative sources if necessary. If not however, the section and all instances that claim he plays for this team should be removed. I am not marking the request as answered, so that other editors with more relevant knowledge/expertise may see it. Slomo666 (talk) 14:09, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tag and the opportunity to explain. Yes, Mitch Austin does play for Daisy Hill. Here is a recent starting line-up from Daisy Hill’s official X account:
https://x.com/officialdhfc/status/1954521589287895379?s=46&t=G0CWV_3hEAVNGcNMbtPZdQ
My apologies for using Instagram as a source instead of X. Unfortunately, the Daisy Hill official website doesn’t appear to be updated with all official announcements and news - they appear to rely on their social media accounts for this - so it was difficult to find a quality source to link. Olyroo (talk) 14:23, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
My issue isn't with instagram specifically, but WP:NOTSOCIALMEDIA, which includes Wikipedia:NOTTWITTER. Slomo666 (talk) 14:41, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
For sure, but what about when certain football clubs only use social media? Olyroo (talk) 15:08, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you read the section I gave you a link to, you can see that there are ways to use social media. These must always refer to themselves. (“X posted y on z social medium”) I do want to note that the rules for WP:Biographies of living persons are usually stricter and I do not know if what I am suggesting would still be allowed under those rules. That is a charity match against content creators. Not sure how that means the player officially plays for them? 81.105.209.77 (talk) 17:54, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
He's registered for Daisy Hill on their league website (NWFCL) although he hasn't played in any official games. Osa Akwamarynowa (talk) 19:25, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
The player himself has said he’s not playing there. Probably why he’s not played all season in any games. 212.139.187.255 (talk) 12:06, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. --pro-anti-air ––>(talk)<–– 21:55, 10 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

False playing info

[edit]

someone on here has lied saying he plays for dortmund and has 20 Australia caps. One of his fans pretending this has all happened and should be removed as it is simply not true. ~2026-27740-36 (talk) 18:15, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

False team

Is this trolling? There is no official source that states he is Borussia Dortmund player

Request to update creator career and official website

[edit]

Please add Mitch Austin’s official website to the External links section:

Also, please update Mitch's career and add a subsection called 'Content Creation'. The article currently identifies Mitch Austin as an 'Australian content creator', however this is not entirely accurate. Mitch Austin is based in the UK and works across Europe and Australia. Proposed wording: == Content creation ==

Following injuries that affected his professional football career, Austin became an online content creator, producing football-related videos for TikTok and YouTube. His content has included videos based on his playing career and the ''FIFA'' video game series.<ref>{{cite news |title='Injuries ruined my football career – now I'm making money as myself on FIFA' |url=https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/mitch-austin-career-injuries-fifa-32882958 |work=Daily Mirror |date=25 May 2024 |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref><ref>{{cite news |title='My football career has been ruined by injuries – now I'm making money playing FIFA' |url=https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/exclusive-mitch-austin-injury-fifa-32867744 |work=Daily Star |date=25 May 2024 |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref>

In 2025, Austin appeared in a number of football and gaming projects. Borussia Dortmund published an ''EA Sports FC 25'' video featuring Austin and Jamie Gittens, describing Austin as an ex-professional footballer and content creator.<ref>{{cite web |title='He showed the craziest things in training' – FC25 DreamTeam with Jamie Gittens and Mitch Austin |url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuR7eI5472A |website=YouTube |publisher=Borussia Dortmund |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref>

In April 2025, Austin participated in NIVEA MEN’s Clean Sheets challenge, an ''EA Sports FC'' competition in which he competed alongside Louis Phillips as Team Sensitive Force.<ref>{{cite web |title=NIVEA MEN’s Clean Sheets challenge concludes in an epic streamer showdown |url=https://dotesports.com/sponsored/news/nivea-mens-clean-sheets-challenge-concludes-in-an-epic-streamer-showdown |website=Dot Esports |date=22 April 2025 |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref>

Austin also appeared in Subway Australia and New Zealand’s gaming campaign, competing against Jamodo in an ''EA Sports FC'' Creator Clash.<ref>{{cite web |title=Subway ANZ Gaming Hub |url=https://www.rivalx.com/subwayANZgaminghub |website=Rival |publisher=Subway Australia and New Zealand |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref> He later appeared in promotional content published by FIFA Rivals, which described him as a football influencer.<ref>{{cite web |title=FIFA Rivals Penalty Shootout – BVB Dortmund Style |url=https://youtube.com/shorts/BDNeHID_ohI |website=YouTube |publisher=FIFA Rivals |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref>

In February 2026, LALIGA named Austin as part of the beIN Sports Australia team participating in the LALIGA EXPERIENCE in Pamplona, Spain. LALIGA described him as a former footballer and content creator. The programme included opportunities for participants to record content and interview CA Osasuna players.<ref>{{cite web |title=LALIGA EXPERIENCE flies to Pamplona to enjoy a historic match at El Sadar |url=https://www.laliga.com/en-GB/news/laliga-experience-flies-to-pamplona-to-enjoy-a-historic-match-at-el-sadar |website=LALIGA |publisher=LALIGA |date=18 February 2026 |access-date=6 August 2026}}</ref> VerifiedUpdates (talk) 12:39, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Should we request protection?

[edit]

With the constant unsourced content (that appears to be vandalism) being added by Bonbonbo/Xaersk (intentionally not pinging them as they appear to like to use alt accounts), we should probably get this page semi-protected if it happens again. Velocifyer (talk) 19:45, 6 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I requested page protection at Requests for page protection/Increase. Velocifyer (talk) 22:35, 6 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Velocifyer
I'm pretty sure they're just random people not socks, it's association football, they're either happy or upset with him.
But yes, if you see an article with a lot of disruption feel free to put in a request without asking in the talk page, it's appropriate to do so and if the admins don't think it should they will just tell you. Thank you for your efforts. ~2026-48362-61 (talk) 22:42, 6 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
