On Mildred Harris playing Dorothy in The Patchwork Girl of Oz, Michael Patrick Hearn wrote to me, "No, too early. She was not signed by the Oz Manufacturing Film Co. until after "The Patchwork Girl of Oz" was already in production." Dorothy Gale does NOT appear in the 1914 film version of the story.
