I don't know about the last 5 years per say, but the National Association of Social Workers is definitely a good example. they have national influence over the course of the social work proffesion for the whole U.S.A . RJJ4y7 (talk) 20:06, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

(I chose this article because macro social work is all about a bigger scope of change, or a societal change, which is something I think is super important in today's world. Macro social work is about fighting systemic issues like poverty and inequality, and I wanted to dive into how social workers do that. )

== Evaluate the article ==

(The article does a good job explaining what macro social work is and why it matters. It talks about its history, methods, and the roles social workers play in pushing for these big changes. However, it could use more current examples to show how these concepts play out in today’s world- it would make it more personal. Nevertheless, it was easy to follow, but the “Future Directions” part feels a little disconnected and the transitions between paragraphs could be better. It’s academic but readable, though some parts could be simplified to make it more of a comfortable read for everyone, I just say that because it has to be considered that not all people are familiar with social work. Lastly, I would say that integrating the citations into the text would make it feel more trustworthy.)

Question:

How can macro social workers make sure they’re really listening to and representing the needs of the communities they’re trying to help?

the strategy social workers usually use is to build "coalitions" comprised of individuals from the community itself and maintaining constant communications with the leaders of those coalitions. every coalition is usually focused on one specific issue. RJJ4y7 (talk) 14:50, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
