luminous intensity
[edit]The article doesn't mention much luminous intensity. That is, how to measure sources that don't emit equally in all directions. Some sources are measured in candela for that reason. Gah4 (talk) 08:09, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
Efficacy and efficiency
[edit]This section of the article is very useful.
Cheers to whoever put it 🫡👍 ~2025-33200-58 (talk) 09:53, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Spectral radiance of black body figure caption
[edit]
For the figure File:Wiens_law_vis_limits.svg, its caption reads:
Wavelengths outside the visible light band (~380–750 nm, bounded within grey dotted lines) have very low luminous efficiency.
Very low luminous efficiency? I think it is effectively zero. Looking at luminous efficiency curves like File:Luminosity.svg. ~2025-33200-58 (talk) 10:01, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Luminous efficacy constant
[edit]I don't do any wikipedia editing, but I noticed this and wanted to say something: All of the fundamental constants from SI have their own dedicated page (e.g. Speed of light, Boltzmann constant, Avagadro's number), except for the luminous efficacy constant. Even if it doesn't have its own page, I think it would be good to have a section of this article discussing the constant and the maximum efficacy value at 555 nm wavelength. - Why don't you have a go at writing something about it, as an addition to this article? Others will jump in and help copyedit it. If it starts to look like it could be an independent article we can move it into one. --Srleffler (talk) 15:40, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
