[edit]I noticed the data in the table doesn’t match the data in the cited source. Why? Tvx1 10:10, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Because the cited source (StatsF1) aggregates the achievements of constructors differently to the way English Wikipedia does. Specifically:
- Williams - StatsF1 aggregates the achievements of the "Frank Williams Racing Cars" Williamses (1975-1976) and the "Williams Grand Prix Engineering/Williams Racing" Williamses (1978-2025) whereas English Wikipedia distinguishes between them
- Sauber/BMW Sauber - English Wikipedia aggregates the achievements of Sauber (1993-2005, 2011-2018, 2024-2025) and BMW Sauber (2006-2010) whereas StatsF1 distinguishes between them
- Lotus - StatsF1 aggregates the achievements of Team Lotus (1958-1994), Team Lotus (2010-2011) and Lotus F1 (2012-2015) whereas English Wikipedia distinguishes between them
- Arrows - English Wikipedia aggregates the achievements of Arrows (1978-1990, 1997-2002) and Footwork Arrows (1991-1996) whereas StatsF1 distinguishes between them

- Which calls in question their reliability as a sources. If we’re not reflecting them, we shouldn’t cite them as a source. Tvx1 14:15, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- @DH85868993 For Lotus in StatsF1 as you mentioned combines all lotus team stats together. Wikipedia Lotus F1 page does mention all those teams, but has Team Lotus (2010–2011) and Lotus F1 mentioned in Team Lotus. Should we combine all those team together here too? Michalis2504 (talk) 16:57, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Michalis2504: WP:F1 convention is to consider Team Lotus, Team Lotus (2010–2011) and Lotus F1 as separate entities, so it would seem odd to me to combine their achievements on this page but not at, say List of Formula One Grand Prix winners (constructors). But the topic could always be revisited at WT:F1 - consensus can change. DH85868993 (talk) 12:44, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- @DH85868993 Did not know a page as such exists, thanks for letting me dive more into it. Michalis2504 (talk) 19:16, 11 November 2025 (UTC)

Automation of all basic stats
[edit]F1cstat|MCL|fastestlaps, in the reference it states 183 whereas using this it outputs 182. Could somebody please explain me here, how and where do does this automation of a template come from, and does anyone actually change it from where. Thanks Michalis2504 (talk) 23:16, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Michalis2504: {{F1cstat}} gets updated within a couple of hours of the end of each race (usually by me). Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy between {{F1cstat}} and StatsF1 with regard to the number of fastest laps for McLaren - I'll have a look and try to work out why the numbers are different. Note however, that there are some stats for which various sources differ - see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Formula_One/Disputed_results, so although we use StatsF1 as the reference for most of the tables in this article, there are some instances where our numbers do differ from theirs. - @Michalis2504:: The difference is due to the fact that StatsF1 credit John Surtees in a McLaren with fastest lap at the 1970 South African Grand Prix, whereas we do not. Here is the discussion about the matter from early 2023. DH85868993 (talk) 08:48, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @DH85868993, thank you for clarifying this dispute. If its fine I would like to add a note below the record, which would clarify for future editors why the number is different between this wiki and F1stats. Michalis2504 (talk) 12:06, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

Wins at same Grand Prix dispute
[edit]For example the Brazilian Grand Prix has been renamed to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in 2021. When a constructor wins a Grand Prix in Brazil it should be under the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, and not the Brazilian Grand Prix, correct? I wanted to clarify this to ensure the stats when it comes to wins to a certain grand prix is noticed, and records being written clearly. Michalis2504 (talk) 19:21, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
