Kurmanji as official language?

The constitution only ascertains "Kurdish" as the official language which for Duhok area means Kurmanji. If I remember correctly, only Sorani is used in official documents of the region. Semsûrî (talk) 13:31, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Is there a proof Kurmanji (Arabic or Latin) is used there?

Kurdistan Region Presidency has both, but Kurdistan Regional Government website hasn't. Beshogur (talk) 14:53, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sheyholislami writes about it and it is mentioned at Sorani#1990s (Iraq section). With regards to script, its Kurdo-Arabic alphabet for the whole region and not Latin. You can find official sites using the Latin script (this is actually Sorani) but the region uses the Kurdo-Arabic script in official documents. Semsûrî (talk) 15:20, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

There is a flag icon that links to the page "Iraq" right next to a separate link to Iraq. I suggest to lower the bytes on this page but not make any big changes or start controversies, you put Iraq
