Goofs

[edit]

In the goofs section it is noted that Gob's first time playing catch with his father possibly contradicts his being known as an adapt softball player:

"Both G.O.B.'s never having played catch with his father and his seeming lack of experience throwing a ball at the episode's end seems to be contradicted by season 2's Switch Hitter, in which not only he is the Bluth softball team's best player, but his father recognizes him as so."

I recommend deleting this due to the comment Michael makes to Gob near the end of Switch Hitter, "You finally got dad to one of your ball games." This implies that Gob did in fact play soft/baseball independent of the company game but that George Sr. did not attend them.

From the "Goofs" section of the article:

"Lindsay says that Tobias is in a weekend workshop with Carl Weathers, although in Public Relations he meets him for the first time."

While Public Relations is the first time Tobias meets Weathers, the dialogue in that episode suggests that Tobias went to a workshop that Weathers did not show up to. The dialogue in this episode foreshadows that, so this is not a goof at all.

@Wikipedian12512: Hello! I will be reviewing this for the October GA backlog drive. There are some things I already found that need fixing below. If you have any questions or I biff anything, please tell me! Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 02:55, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanka kindly. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 14:46, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Initial comments

[edit]

These are initial things I found in the prose before the in-depth read-through. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 00:00, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • In the lead, add more info from the article body, like production, analysis, when did the episode come out, reception, etc.
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 16:50, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Whenever the article uses apostrophes when quoting something/for episode names, etc., replace with quotation marks. If there is a quote within a quote, make the inner quotes apostrophes. ("His boastful nature has once again landed him in the position of admitting a 'huge mistake'")
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 15:41, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Like for "Bringing Up Buster", add a short introduction of each character and who they are into the plot.
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 15:19, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "...Bringing Up Buster, which was seen by 2.6% of all households in the same range, and a return to the viewership share of Top Banana.": Put episode names in quotations and unitalicize.
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 15:19, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Looks good! I will pass it sometime later, because I am away from my computer and trying to do anything on a phone is impossible. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 22:07, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
No problem :). Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 22:08, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Read-through

[edit]

This is a read-through of the article to find any issues within the prose. Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 01:01, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Dragonhawk12: Think I’m done with everything. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 16:53, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I look another look at the article, and there are still a couple of things that need to be addressed:
  • Per MOS:CURLY, quotation marks should be straight ("), not curly (”).
Fixed. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 22:04, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "...criticizes the episode for using an 'environmentalists vs developers' trope...": Use quotation marks
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 22:04, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "Jim Halden from HowStuffWorks ranked...": Unitalicize "HowStuffWorks"
Fixed. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 22:04, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "...marketing material for season 5": Change to "season five"
Fixed. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 22:04, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
After these are fixed, I believe I can pass the article. Good work so far! Dragonhawk12 (talk) (Guestbook) (Wikicats) 18:51, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Dragonhawk12: All done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 22:05, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Lead

[edit]
  • "...Michael's son George Michael(Michael Cera)...": Add a space before "Michael" and after "Michael".
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 14:49, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "The episode is the first in the series to feature EGOT winner Liza Minnelli.": The fact she is an EGOT winner is not mentioned anywhere in the article. Also, I do not believe this is relevant.
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 14:49, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Plot

[edit]
  • "Michael, returning the family jet, gets a new family car, which happens to be the jet's stair car. Lindsay, upset by this, joins a tree activist named Johnny Bark and spends a night with him sitting on a tree.": Why would Lindsay join a random tree activist because she is upset at Michael getting a stair car as their new family car? It feels like there is context missing that helps connect these two events.
Actually, no. That’s kinda just how it happens. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 14:51, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Production

[edit]
  • "However, thanks to Ron Howard having a personal connection with her...": "Thanks to" feels like the article is praising her, which breaks neutrality. I would recommend simply "However, because Ron Howard has a personal connection with her..."
Fixed. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 15:23, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Analysis

[edit]
  • "...is so overconfident that it comes back around bite him.": "Comes back around to bite him" is a WP:EUPHAMISM, which is not allowed. Maybe change it to something like "it negatively impacted him".
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 16:52, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "Irwin says 'His boastful nature...": Because the quote is in the middle of a sentence, it should be "Irwin says "[h]is boastful nature".
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 16:52, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Reception

[edit]
  • "...is proof of that [the show starting strong]": Should be "the show is starting strong"
Done. Cheers, In solidarity Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 16:52, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
