This article appears to be an official release from UK's Labour Party. Chock full of hyperbolic accounts of events around the ascendancy of Ms Badenoch and maximizing the use of rumours and innuendo. This WP article asserts Kemi Badenoch could not have been offered a partial scholarship to Stanford University when she was 16 to study pre-medicine at Stanford because Stanford did not not have a pre-med around the time she was applying. I studied comp sci at Stanford CS Gates from 1997 to 2001. Many first years who studied cs106a/cs106b switched to biology majors to pursue medicine afterwards. I don't know the details beyond that, but Stanford has a very large medical school. I had surgery there after a breaking my foot and hand in the main-quad playing "capture the flag". Junior doctors at Stanford Medicine attended to me in addition to my MD. [1]
The cited Guardian claim is misleading. Stanford does not have a separate pre-med major, but it absolutely has a path for undergraduates to prepare for medical school, and Stanford Medicine also offers the MD program itself. [1]dmode (talk) 03:44, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
