Possible AI generated text
[edit]Concerns have been raised by User:Thilio about AI-generated content in this article. This is a talk page section to discuss it. Gnomingstuff (talk) 05:51, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- i noticed it encloses a website within code markup, like
this text - I think that is something AI does. Wikipedia doesn't accept AI. That is something I noticed. ~2026-29780-99 (talk) 01:00, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
neutral pov
[edit]the article is pretty exclusively portraying googles change as negative. the Effect on the open-source ecosystem section is in my opinion the most egregious part, but the majority of the article is similarly biased ItsJiggles (talk) 06:19, 18 October 2026 (UTC)
- I mean... there's nothing that could possibly be positive or neutral about Google's new change. How can one be neutral about this without being paid to bootlick Google? ~2026-55835-29 (talk) 13:06, 18 October 2026 (UTC)
- @~2026-55835-29 there is definitely a positive side to this. it increases security. but also, you can list the criticisms of this without criticising it in the article. this article includes a lot of language that directly criticises the change, which should be avoided on wikipedia ItsJiggles (talk) 16:51, 18 October 2026 (UTC)
- NPOV is not no POV. "Neutral" means a balanced summary of all reliable sources, with each opinions given their due weight. For this article, however, the most neutral way to elaborate on Google's work is to write about criticism all the way down, because the response itself is just overwhelmingly negative and critical. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk / Uploads 13:10, 18 October 2026 (UTC)
- the thing is the response isn't overwhelmingly negative. a lot of the non-primary sources on the article go into detail about the security risks that come with sideloading and the increased security the restrictions bring. the article, however, talks about almost none of that, instead almost exclusively talking about the reasons people are against it.
