Did you know nomination

[edit]

  • ... that Kate Tolo spent four years messaging her boyfriend before he replied?
    • Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Semois Valley National Park
    • Comment: Driveby nom. (My preferred hook, "that Kate Tolo wants to share her body with the world", wouldn't work per WP:RSHEADLINE, but "that Kate Tolo's boyfriend refers to her vagina as her 1%" or "that Kate Tolo's boyfriend regularly tweets about her sex life" might work if they're added to the article. Also, where in ref 17 does it say "She has been cited as one of the people responsible for bringing care of the vaginal microbiome into the cultural conversation?")

Just saw this. Sure there are others, but ALT1: ... that Kate Tolo "could not be more proud" of her boyfriend for tweeting about her vagina?.--Launchballer 19:54, 23 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
It does not seem as if it mentions her being "cited as one of the people responsible for bringing care of the vaginal microbiome into the cultural conversation." in what is referenced in the article. This will need a full review by a different editor. Aneirinn (talk) 23:23, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
No opinion about the article itself, but I don't think the hook as currently written meets WP:DYKGRAT. Is there anything else you can use? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:24, 8 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Fairly certain that she's well known enough for publishing her own health results that it's just about the right side of "excessively sensational or gratuitous", but we could go with ALT2: ... that Kate Tolo has been praised for helping break down the stigma of menstruation?. I could also add a bit to the article that would allow ALT3: ... that Kate Tolo has a condition that used to be called polycystic ovarian syndrome?; shame she was diagnosed after the name change, since ("used to have PCOS" would be even better), and the fact that her sister is an Olympic medallist hasn't made it out of her website.--Launchballer 07:34, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Emphasizing the word "vagina" in this context seems gratituous for me, especially when we recently had a discussion about sensational hooks. ALT2 feels more acceptable. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 23:40, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
