Disambiguation
[edit]Before I do another RM, I want to do a quick poll of the last respondents to see if any would support moving this to Israeli (disambiguation). If there are no additional endorsements, I will leave it for now. NB: This is a non-binding poll and not a requested move, just looking for input first. @Srnec @JuniperChill @Myceteae @Mellk @RGloucester @Freedoxm Thanks. - @Metallurgist I further oppose this requested overriding of the fair consensus results. I suggest we do a 6-month moratorium before we resume further RM discussions, per WP:SNOW. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 18:54, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- I think this is different from the prior proposal to merit consideration, but if none of the tagged agree with me in a reasonable period of time (say, a week), it is futile (snow, as it were) and I wont revisit it. I dont think a formal moratorium is necessary as I will not make another RM for awhile. I dont want to give a hard time, but Ill take the L. Its not a big deal to me if it isnt moved, I just think it would make editing easier. Appreciate your consideration. Metallurgist (talk) 19:03, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Metallurgist do you mean move Israeli to Israeli (disambiguation) and, presumably, make Israeli a redirect to Israelis? --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 16:34, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
- Yes. Metallurgist (talk) 06:05, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
- I think it's a reasonable proposal. I haven't thought through whether or not I would support such a move at Israeli but it is worth considering. I disagree with Freedoxm's characterization that this would be overriding consensus for this article. These are two separate questions: (1) What's the best title for this article about "the citizens and nationals of the State of Israe"; and, (2) Is there a primary topic for Israeli and if so, is it Israelis? A couple editors engaged with the primary topic question in the recent RM here but the specific naming conventions for ethnicities and nationalities was the bigger factor. If you proceed with the Israeli RM, it would be good to include the link to RM here for context and to avoid the appearance of impropriety (you probably would have done this, anyway). --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 19:06, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
