I ask Risky texter to discuss their preferred edits here rather than edit warring. Thanks, Generalrelative (talk) 21:30, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Adding balanced factual information from the relevant view points is necessary to understand the topic and prevent incorrect statements/interpretations from occurring. Risky texter (talk) 21:38, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
These edits did not appear (to me) to comply with our policy on WP:NPOV, nor did they appear (to me) to be encyclopedic in WP:TONE. Would you please click on those policy/guideline links and give them a read? Thanks, Generalrelative (talk) 21:41, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Lacking the possible and not-infrequent experiences of 50% of the population is not neutral. How would you like to word it so that this information can be added? Risky texter (talk) 21:45, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is simply disruptive for other editors to remove content with the reason "It is not encyclopaediac in tone. Read WP:TONE." without explaining how the text displays such issue, so I am sorry that you got that.
The reason that the content isn't properly worded is that it says in wikivoice that the duluth model is sexist. The reason this isn't good is because many people believe that it isn't, so saying outright that it is sexist does not adequately represent all views on the topic. The best way to improve the content would be to say something such as "(blank) criticises the Duluth model, saying that ..." instead of "the Duluth model is sexist". —Panamitsu (talk) 21:51, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You mention a, to me, very important subject, and I like your supplied wording a lot more actually, I'll reform it tomorrow.
P.S. something like "many people believe that it isn't, so saying outright that it is sexist does not adequately represent all views on the topic" isn't mentioned in the WP:TONE, because the flat earthers would disagree with the intro to the subject on flat earth ;) Risky texter (talk) 22:01, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's would be in WP:NPOV. —Panamitsu (talk) 22:11, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Difference under gender symmetry not clear

[edit]

"women's physical violence is more likely than men's violence to be motivated by self-defense and fear, whereas men's physical violence is more likely than women's to be driven by control motives"

This doesn't really seem to establish a clear difference. Self-defence out of fear can be a control motive/a control motive can be looked at as self-defence out of fear. Can this be clarified or is this all the source provides? Ybllaw (talk) 12:08, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Add A Fact: "High rates of adolescent intimate partner violence"

[edit]

I found a fact that might belong in this article. See the quote below

In nearly half of 67 countries with available data, more than 1 in 5 ever-married adolescent girls has experienced physical and/or sexual violence by a husband or partner within the past year.

The fact comes from the following source:

https://data.unicef.org/topic/gender/intimate-partner-violence/

Additional comments from user: The most common form of violence against women, intimate partner violence includes any physical, sexual or emotional abuse perpetrated by a current or former partner within the context of marriage, cohabitation or any other formal or informal union.

Why a contested theory was being considered an universal analytical pattern?

[edit]

Regardless of the societal, philosophical or political percepetions of the editors here or many institutions, researchers from all areas does not agree or provided definitive uncontested evidence about intimate-partner violence patterns. Neither from prevalence, for reasons or for the dynamic tipology (types of intimate-partner violence). There is severe disagreement about the clusters to divide agression patterns itself. There are still prevalent evolutive theories for motivations not just the gender hierarchy explanation. And there is not full agreement on gender and sexuality differences on patterns or outcomes. Specific negative outcomes and barriers for males and LGBT were not included also. Do not overide the evidence and the researchers positions. I edited the introduction which states the separations of domestic violence, putting that this specific division is contested. But this not enough, different typologies and pespectives should be acknowedged, not just Jhonson's. ~2026-44365-58 (talk) 18:37, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
