Software Sustainability Institute → Institute for Research Software – The organisation changed its official name from the Software Sustainability Institute to the Institute for Research Software on 1 September 2026. The proposed title reflects its current name. The former title should remain as a redirect. The name change is documented here: https://www.software.ac.uk/blog/introducing-institute-research-software.
I work for the Institute and am requesting this change rather than moving the page directly because I have a conflict of interest. Thank you in advance! ~2026-47365-43 (talk) 10:16, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
Oppose per WP:NAMECHANGES for now, let's revisit this when RS had the chance to start using the new name. Best, squawk7700 (talk) 10:15, 8 September 2026 (UTC)- This isn't Twitter - it's an obscure, barely notable organisation that has rebranded. We shouldn't need to wait for independent coverage to change the article title. SmartSE (talk) 10:33, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
- Honestly can't really argue with that, no need to artificially prolong this. Rgds, squawk7700 (talk) 10:44, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll be bold and move it. SmartSE (talk) 11:38, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
