These are different. See this article: Optimized error protection of scalable image bit streams (Advances in joint source-channel coding for images); IEEE signal processing magazine By Raouf Hamzaoui, Vladimir Stankovic, Zixiang Xiong; 2005

Suggestion about online image compression tools

[edit]

Hello! I operate QuickImageFix.com, which offers online image compression and other image utilities. I have a potential conflict of interest, so I'm suggesting this here rather than adding a link directly to the article.

Would an external link to an online image compression tool be useful to readers of this article? I understand that links should meet Wikipedia's external-link guidelines and that editors may decide the website is not suitable.

Thank you for considering the suggestion. Quickimagefix (talk) 22:41, 19 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi! A few things here. Firstly, it's best not to have that sort of external link in articles per WP:ELNO. Secondly, welcome to Wikipedia! There's a template which I usually use to welcome new users but it wouldn't work on the article talkpage, so I'm typing out a manual welcome instead. Thirdly, your username doesn't comply with the username policy because it is the name of an organisation, so I would suggest changing it. You can put in a request to change your username at the request rename page. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! ғѳmɑɭʱɑυե (Any pronouns)ᵀᵃˡᵏ 22:51, 19 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
