  • On second thoughts, I feel that there's sufficient information to move to mainspace already. • Wait and Support as I want to wait to collect all damage information though I do support moving later as Larry did cause slightly less damage than Henri (Cat 1 landfall opposed to TS for Henri though Henri did hit a more populated place) and caused the same amount of deaths (2 rip currents). Does Larry still exist?

I looked at the OPC's pressure map and I cannot tell if the 2 lows merged or passed by each other. Do these warnings apply to the remnants of larry or the powerful low? PlanetsForLife 12:13, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

Larry was absorbed by the other low between 18Z and 00Z. It's more clearly seen by the 3 hourly maps the WPC generates. Supportstorm (talk) 12:45, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

stolen boat and missing thief?

Is there more information on this boat stolen from a moorage in the Halifax Nova Scotia area? It sounds like a very bizarre story as yacht thefts are not really something on the radar here in this part of Canada. 72.142.92.198 (talk) 20:06, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

Alright I finally got around to reviewing this.

Lead

• "Finally, on September 13, the storm was absorbed by a larger extratropical cyclone near Greenland." - Finally feels dramatic and unnecessary

• Done.

Met history

• "On August 26, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) was monitoring a tropical wave that was going to emerge off the coast of West Africa."

• Ref 5 isn't loading for me. Could you change the tropical weather outlooks to text using the archive?

• Done. It seems the original author did a typo, it was actually the 27th.

• Also, you should mention that the NHC thought this wave had a decent chance of development, that's why they were monitoring it, right?

• Added giving it a 20% chance of formation for the next five days.

• "The tropical wave exited Africa on August 30, surrounded by an area of low pressure that had generally westward movement." - surrounded isn't the right term, since a tropical wave is an axis. If you don't want to use the TCR wording of "accompanied", then you could say "The tropical wave exited Africa on August 30, associated with an area of low pressure which moved generally westward."

• Replaced "surrounded" with "associated", replaced "that had generally westward movement" with "moving generally westward", linked area of low pressure.

• "the NHC designated the system as a tropical depression at 18:00 on August 31" - you need to specify it's UTC

• Removed the part about snow in Greenland. The hurricane-force winds part is technically related to the met history but if you want me to remove that too I can.

Preps and impacts

• "No power outages or deaths were recorded, and overall damage was minimal." - could you elaborate on any of the damage that did occur? You mentioned winds and waves, but no impacts

• TCR is not great for details, but it vaguely mentions impact to beaches due to storm surge, so I added that.

• You cited ref 18, but that doesn't mention the storm surge directly (it has a few videos). I suggest citing the Bermuda Weather Service report for September 2021 or the WMO report for Bermuda. The bad news is that there isn't a direct link to the first report, which mentions rainfall totals, while the second one mentions the storm surge and some minor damage from the surge. • The lead says that the person went missing from the stolen boat, but the impact section doesn't specifically say when the person was declared missing, or if they were ever declared dead. Do you have any more on that, like the name of the boat? I can help find more info

• From what I can find, its name was Secret Plans, and the person was an Antiguan fugitive named Karin Marley Simons. Is this WP:DUE for inclusion in the article?

• Here is some more info - IDK, that sounds pretty interesting, that the person was a fugitive, stole another boat, and then went missing. Who knows, the person might've faked their death and actually gotten away with it. I think mentioning the boat name makes sense, since that's pretty standard when a boat goes missing during a storm. • The impact section switches from having imperial units first or having metric units first. Considering the article is Canada-focused, I think all units should be metric first, but the whole article should be the same for consistency

Yes, it's likely the subject is no longer living, but as of now his official status is missing and omitting his name wouldn't remove too much context from the article, I think.
