• For clarity, was the ship originally to have been a paddlewheeler? I assume so, but this should be more explicit (since you say initially ordered as a "steam powered" ship and then re-ordered as a "screw-propelled" ship
• Can you add more context to the body on the Crimean War? Remember the intro should summarize the article, so it shouldn't have details that aren't mentioned in the prose.
• Relatedly, can you tell us when the war ended?

On the steam/screw thing, I was referring to this part:

James Watt was originally ordered...as a steam-powered, 80-gun, second-rate ship of the line...[and] was reordered as a screw-propelled ship on 14 June 1849 - the implication is that the original propulsion system was something other than screws. Parsecboy (talk) 21:19, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

One final question - if the reordering didn't have anything to do with the propulsion system, do we know what it accomplished? The name was already changed and the rated number of guns was altered almost 2 years later. Parsecboy (talk) 15:06, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

I misread the sources. It was never reordered; the design was not approved until 1849. Lambert says that it was ordered in 1850, but that's not confirmed by Winfield.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 18:12, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
