Can we get a better photo?

[edit]

The current photo is blurry and low quality. It would be nice to get a portrait, if possible. 2601:547:501:8F90:D9D:D2D3:48A0:85FB (talk) 21:14, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

National pedigree vs linguistic pedigree

[edit]

QUOTE: George Bernard Shaw, the Irish writer. END OF QUOTE.

George Bernard Shaw was known as a British writer in my younger days. Did any of the creepy spontaneous geniuses who abound in Wikipedia pages find that information was wrong? Inserting misinforamtion onine seems to be a pastime for creeps. 117.223.88.242 (talk) 10:01, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Solved unsolved mathematical problems

[edit]

The article should state what the two unsolved problems solved by Dantzig are, otherwise it sounds like urban legend. 166.48.16.200 (talk) 01:25, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Who is Freund?

[edit]

The Research section begins "Freund wrote futher" but this is the first mention of "Fruend" in the article, and no reference is given. Was a first reference removed? ~2026-31236-38 (talk) 20:55, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

When you say "no reference is given" do you mean that you somehow do not see the footnote, at the end of the quote, to a publication by someone named Robert Freund? It appears that this is Robert Freund, the Theresa Seley Professor in Management Science at MIT, but I don't see what benefit to this article there would be in spelling all that out. —David Eppstein (talk) 22:06, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
