An IP added that he played for the NC-based Greensboro Prowlers in 2003. He was a coach for the NC-based Cobras at the time so it is possible. This source from 2003 said he suited up in a "minor league" game. I checked the af2's website for the Prowlers 2003 stats but Fleming is not listed there. Maybe he did play one game but didn't record any statistics? I can't find any sources to verify him playing for the Prowlers. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk)

After a one-year stint in the Canadian Football League – perhaps add "(CFL)".
He was redshirted as a freshman in 1983 after suffering a knee injury – "was" isn't needed.
He was then a four-year starter from 1984 to 1987. After the Bison's 1986 quarterfinal playoff game, Fleming was suspended by the NCAA for using anabolic steroids and missed the rest of the postseason as a result. He weighed 229 pounds in 1985 and 262 pounds in 1986. In 2003, Fleming claimed that in 1986 he had received calls from Nightline and Late Night with David Letterman in regards to the steroid suspension. – the placing of his weight in the middle there sounds awkward. Perhaps add it after He was then a four-year starter from 1984 to 1987.? (and use the {convert} template). Also, is there any further information on why he was called by the Letterman show?
Pro Football Archives includes a release by the Lions (without a date), so I added that ref in.
At one point during the 1991 season, Fleming was also listed as the team's emergency quarterback, with Fleming stating "I don't know if they were serious, and thank goodness, I never had to find out." – add comma after "stating". Also, that's pretty funny. All the different positions he played could be a potential DYK hook.
