Exit code
[edit]Exit code (which redirects here) is also occasionally used to mean International call prefix — the digits (often 00 or 011) which are used when dialing an international telephone number. I added an About hint; I don't think it warrants a separate disambiguation page. --ABehrens (talk) 03:16, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Confusion
[edit]The article is rather confusing, because it mixes exit "codes" from applications or programs with the "exit status" of operating systems. For example an "exit code" of 1 is represented in an "exit status" of "1 << 8" in UNIX-like operating systems. I think the article should make a difference between an "exit status" (as seen by the operating system) and an "exit code" used in an application. ~2026-48875-51 (talk) 08:07, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
