It was the fastest century of the season but there was no Lawrence Trophy in those years. See https://web.archive.org/web/20160706032704/http://www.walterlawrencetrophy.com/?page_id=10 and link from there to the fastest 100s between 1946 and 1970

The linked source (Wisden obit) says this only for 1957. Did he captain in 1956 ? I don't have CA access at the moment to check.

Strictly speaking, White was fast and Shackleton was medium.

Review

As you can see from the table to date, this is well on the way. It's a very good read, and amusing in a couple of places. He was certainly one of several prominent "characters" in the game at that time, like Fred Trueman and others.

1. 06 : Good. Used six times. One small point is that David Foot says Colin was the last amateur captain at Hampshire, but doesn't actually mention Roy Marshall as his successor, although he certainly was.
2. 10 : Used together with #06 re Slazenger. Charles Williams mentions Slazenger but I've got it on page 147. You might have a different edition of the book.
3. 14 : Good.
4. 30 : Good.
5. 34 : Good.
6. 44 : Good.
7. 46 : Good.

Result
