Identity of Earl of Douglas
[edit]The Douglas/Colville incident most likely was in 1449, so the earl would be William Douglas, 8th Earl of Douglas and 2nd Earl of Avondale (1425–1452), who was murdered by James II of Scotland at Stirling Castle
