Would you explain about the massacres of chinese peruvian in Governement of president Juan Velasco Alvarado?

There wasn't any massacre of chinese peruvian during the dictatorship of Velasco, instead the poverty increased and a lot of peruvian left Peru to live in other countries with more quality of life —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.123.149.56 (talk) 04:09, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

It doesn't say anything about massacres in Peru. "Many Chinese Indonesians and Chinese Malaysians came to Peru after anti-Chinese riots and massacres in those countries the 1960s, 1970s, and late 1990s". Those countries = Malaysia and Indonesia. cab (talk) 04:25, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

The percentatge is incorrect, if peru had 2-3% chinese with 1.3 millions, Peru would have 48 millions of people in total?

"吃飯" or "chifa" is not correct

"Chifan" is to cook rice

the term 吃飯 they put in cantonese is to *EAT* rice/ eat a meal, not to cook rice.

I don't speak Mandarin so I don't know if it means something else in Mandarin. There's differences in usage of common terms. 70.23.46.170 (talk) 21:45, 13 October 2024 (UTC)

Necessity of the final paragraph in “Early History”?

I don’t think that the final paragraph of the “Early History” section (beginning with “In Peru and Cuba…”) is necessary or adds any value. The preceding paragraphs extensively cover intermarriages between Chinese men and Peruvian women; at most, one could add a sentence mentioning that such unions were met with international disapproval. But the existing paragraph just repeats the perceptions of a New York Times (i.e., a non-Peruvian source) from 1873, which clearly reflects the racist and misogynistic attitudes of the time (e.g., Black and Native Peruvian women being characterised as domineering). It would be one thing if the Wikipedia paragraph was critical in discussing this source, but as I said, it just repeats the claims (which, in a way, reinforces them).
