According to the cited source, May was "knighted for services to music and charity". Is there a reason the mention of his knighthood was placed at the end of the section on his scientific career, the one thing among his occupations that didn't contribute to the knighthood? Brian May is an animal welfare advocate, not an animal rights activist. There is no good sourcing for rights. His own organization "Save me" describes itself as an "animal welfare organisation that exists to proactively protect wild animals through campaigning, lobbying and changing laws" . In 2010 he received an award from the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

Brian May plays ukulele on some tracks including Queen's Bring Back that Leroy Brown and Good Company. That should be one of the instruments listed and he should have that category below.-~2026-43934-13 (talk) 10:51, 22 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
No reason to doubt, quite possibly. The text says:
"The first instrument May learned to play was the banjolele. He used a "genuine George Formby Ukulele-Banjo" in "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" and "Good Company". Occasionally, May would also record on other string instruments such as harp (one chord per take, then copied and pasted by the engineer to make it sound like a continuous performance) and bass (on some demos and many songs in his solo career, and the Queen + Paul Rodgers album). May was keen on using some toys as instruments as well. He used a Yamaha plastic piano in "Teo Torriatte" and a toy mini koto in "The Prophet's Song"."
But the Categories are really meant to reflect the "defining features" of a person and I'm not sure that's the case. He is principally known as being a guitarist. I see that the infobox lists "keyboards", and this looks to be fully supported in the text, but not really a defining feature. Bass might be a possible addition to the infobox, and to the Categories, as he has played that on "many songs in his solo career"? Martinevans123 (talk) 11:55, 22 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
The documentation for {{Infobox musical artist}} says that the instruments field "should be limited to only those that the artist is primarily known for using. The instruments infobox parameter is not intended as a WP:COATRACK for every instrument the subject has ever used.". I don't think that ukulele belongs in that field because May is not primarily known for playing it. The inclusion of keyboards is pretty arguable too.
