Arthur K Adams also played at the Blackout for about a year when living in Dallas. I was there three or four times a week. Also Billy on bass, Little Roy on Sax. and Haywood on Drums. The Blackout seated about 200 and it would fill early and then there was line all the way to the street (Lovers Lane). The Fire Marshal would stop by every night. Arthur K would leave and go outside and entertain the folks a-waiting in line. It would bring down the house. The rest of the band stayed in perfect time.
A song he played every night was the College Song. He would name every college in Texas and then finish with University of Waxahachie, and then finish with South Dallas Barber College. (South Dallas is around The Great State Fair of Texas and was a black area) Much enthusiasm from the crowd always. Mainly SMU and North Texas University folks.
