Miracles
[edit]I am having trouble finding the specific miracles attributed to her post mortem. That would be informative for the article if anyone can find a good ref. Ditch ∝ 21:04, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Ten-petaled Sunflower
[edit]Since this flower's own article states that it is native to Canada and the United states, it would be helpful if somebody with the information could add how it became associated with this saint from medieval finland. Otherwise, anyone who clicks on the links in the Introduction and "Death" section - like me - will likely become confused. Mastakos (talk) 06:35, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- The source is available here, on page 291. It's a calendar of saints, with a listing of which flowers are expected to be in bloom on which days, and when certain animals are most likely to be seen. As far as I can tell, there is no support here for a specific association between Anstrudis and the ten-petaled sunflower (or any of the other nine flowers listed on that page, or swallows, or martins); the source merely states that the ten-petaled sunflower is in bloom on St. Anstrudis's day. I think the statement should be removed from the article. Sonitus (talk) 13:42, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- I came here from the DYK listing on the main page, and I had the same question. I think this should either be clarified on the page or removed. I'm also going to make a note of this issue at Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:34, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking into this! I found the other source for this statement (which I should have looked for before approving it to go on the Main Page, but sometimes you've got to learn the hard way...) and it doesn't verify the statement either. I pulled the DYK hook and removed the statement from the article. —TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 23:17, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- TechnoSquirrel69 this was discussed on Wikipedia talk:Did you know#Anstrudis (nom). The Whitaker's reference does verify the hook if you check 17 October Google books link, but I don't think Whitaker is a high quality source. I think that the nominator or reviewer should have provided a link as it is available. TSventon (talk) 23:36, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- When I reported it yesterday, I had simply come here out of curiosity after seeing the hook on the main page. Now that I've seen further discussion, I don't think that there ever was sufficient sourcing to have justified that hook, and that hook should never have been approved at DYK. --Tryptofish (talk) 20:33, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
