Early life

I'm not sure that this belongs to the Early Life section, or anywhere else in the article. It's well known that Navalny's father is an ethnic Ukrainian, so Navalny couldn't have possibly used the word Banderites referring to all Ukrainians as a slur (which would imply that there were no Ukrainians in his family). He's using it in the regular sense "my family is from Ukraine but they weren't supporters of OUN/Bandera". Alaexis_¿question? 23:15, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

Subordinate countries in infoboxes

Since I recently discussed about subordinate countries in infoboxes, because Russian SFSR does not belong here per Template:Infobox person/doc. But we do have MOS:NOFORCELINK, and RSFSR is just too broad, it says almost nothing about the location. Absolutiva (talk) 22:00, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

I do not see any policy which prohibits mentioning RSFSR. The postal address would contain district, oblast, republic, and the country. Ymblanter (talk) 20:49, 14 June 2025 (UTC)

It is unnecessary to display Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. For example, it is not necessary to state: New York City, New York, United States when New York City, U.S. conveys essentially the same information more concisely. On the other hand, specifying a small town such as Butyn and omitting Moscow Oblast is wrong, because it forces the reader to follow the link for the town that they might not know. I do not think it makes sense to include the second-level subdivision but not the first-level one. This might imply that Moscow Oblast is the first-level subdivision. I am also not sure how Russian SFSR (or any other republic) would be unnecessary, it is not like this is redundant. A case where it could be argued that it is redundant is if we mentioned the administrative center e.g. "Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk Oblast" or "Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai". Length

I have removed the recent statement by the five European governments because the death section does not mention any of the analysis/reactions from 2024, so I do not see why we would single out this statement (not to mention that there were previous assessments by the US and Ukraine regarding the circumstances of the his death). There is a separate article about his death. It may be possible to include a brief summary on analysis/reactions but we need to first trim other sections in the article since the article is now just under 15,000 words (see WP:LENGTH for guidance).
