Basic information to add to this article: what the "iso-" in "iso-polyphony" means. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 19:59, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've revised it so that A) the intro actually says what it is and B) explanation of the exact word/term.RandomEditor6772314 (talk) 17:02, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Intro sentence says nothing about what iso-polyphony is

[edit]

“ Iso-Polyphony (Albanian: Iso-polifonia) is a traditional part of Albanian folk music and, as such, is included in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list.” I’ve noticed an epidemic of extremely uninformative intro sentences on Wikipedia that fail to say what the thing in question actually is. Of course I would edit myself to say what it is…except in this case I’ve read multiple paragraphs and still have no idea what it is. RandomEditor6772314 (talk) 00:55, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

After studying sources and finding new sources, I've now added a new first-line intro sentence that says what it is. Also added a "Name" section of the article that explains the exact name/word (which was very mysterious in the article before, while sounding somewhat academic for a folk music term) and also various documented equivalent synonyms in colloquial usage. With citations.RandomEditor6772314 (talk) 17:05, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
