A prominent American attorney with the same name is an expert on International law and a Fellow at the Hoover Institution. My father, Abraham Sofaer, was not of Burmese Jewish descent, he was of Iraqi Jewish descent. He was born in Rangoon, Burma dining the time of the British Raj.
