The fact that the AMD65 was derived from the Romanian Pistol Mitralieră model 1965 really needed to be noted in the article. I took the liberty of adding it in, if you didn't mind. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 11:23, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Do you have any sources? --Szabi237 (talk) 21:19, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
On the other side, both of them are based on the AKM rifle, so they are in a really close relationship. --Szabi237 (talk) 21:30, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Use by Ukrainian Forces in the Ruso-Ukrainian War
[edit]We have video evidence of Ukrainian forces using modified AMD-65 rifles in some numbers
Do we update the page to reflect this? TheGuy1440 (talk) 09:34, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Update main photo?
[edit]opinions on changing the main photo to one of a more stock configuration of the rifle? The main distinguishing features of the amd65 are its characteristic furniture and use of a 2nd pistol grip as a foregrip, the main photograph features one with aftermarket handguard, foregrip and optics making it less recognizable as an example of the amd 65 in my opinion
If this idea gains traction i can try to track down a suitable photo with viable copyright for the article Sovietmath (talk) 09:57, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
