Merger proposal

I propose that Land Force Central Area be merged into 4th Canadian Division, per this press release issued 8 July 2013. Plasma east (talk) 11:50, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Canadian Army Support Division should be new topic

[edit]

I removed the unsupported claim that CASD will wear the 4 Div patch. CASD has its own div patch that can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/share/1EjEphKbdT/?mibextid=wwXIfr

The army is putting 3, 4, and 5 div on the supplement order of battle so the identities are available for mobilization in the future. This page should not be used for the CASD which is a new division with new heritage and should get a new page.

Thanks for the correction. Also can you do me a favour and create that patch while I create the article? Lazarbeem (talk) 23:53, 19 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

4 Div patch change

[edit]

4 Div's patch has been changed to blue, similar to the 2 Div patch, and is being renamed to the Defense of Canada Division. Not sure if the renaming has happened yet, but all 4 Div pers are being issued new patches, so at the very least that should change. ~2026-52069-61 (talk) 16:53, 27 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I think you have misunderstood the changes. The 4th Division is becoming zero-strength and dormant, and its subordinate units are now part of the 2nd Division. That is why they are getting blue division patches. The new description and mission of the 2nd Division is the “defence of Canada division,” but that is not its name, which remains “2nd Canadian Division”.
