2026 Kauda clashesSPLM-N-Otoro fighting – I would rename the article to "SPLM-N-Otoro fighting" because the title is vague. For the name "SPLM-N-Otoro fighting", there would also be a source. MarketFruit (talk) 01:55, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Splm-n-Otoro fighting is quite vague too. Do you mean SPLM-N versus Otoro fighting or SPLM-N-Otoro fighting? Also fighting what? I've heard of an article which would've been only "x-z fighting". Thirdly this conflict is not only between SPLM-N and the Otoro tribe as also the RSF, SAF and the Shawayha tribe is involved. Brown caterpillar12 (talk) 16:31, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I mean SPLM-N versus Otoro fighting, but the one source I refer to calls it SPLM-N-Otoro fighting. While the RSF and the Shawayha tribe are involved, the main groups in the conflict seem to be the SPLM-N and the Otoro Nuba people. Another name would also work for me, if you have ideas for one, you can name some. MarketFruit (talk) 16:37, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I would say that Otoro rebellion would be the best name. Militant.Insurgency (talk) 02:57, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
That's also a good title. MarketFruit (talk) 17:06, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think Otoro rebellion is the best opinion. MarketFruit (talk) 23:17, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
In my opinion the current name tells the reader enough of what is going on. The situation is very complicated and still developing so I think the best course of action is to wait. Rebellion is kind of weird as Otoro tribe hasn't even formed to concrete movement and they don't even an official name or leadership. The clashes are more of an mutiny than rebellion but we don't have sources for both of those titles. Just keep it as it is and wait for the situation to develop. That's also a good point, however the fighting was also outside of Kauda, wouldn't be 2026 South Kordofan clashes be better? MarketFruit (talk) 07:50, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
That would be a good suggestion. Other possibility would be 2026 Nuba Mountain clashes. Brown caterpillar12 (talk) 08:28, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yea that's also a good name for the article.
Now a decision between 2026 South Kordofan clashes or 2026 Nuba Mountain clashes would be good. MarketFruit (talk) 08:32, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Otoro controlled teritory

[edit]

Hello guys I have returned from Nuba Mountains just few days ago. On Saturday we were going from Gidel to Um dullu.

Only some few km along the way is the place where Aturo rebels have free hand in conducting their ambushes.

Um Dullu is very very heavily secured by SPLA-N and RSF at this point that you get the sense that there is more soldiers then people in there.

Generally, Aturo rebels are confined to maybe two or three short mountain ranges from which they break through SPLA-N lines and conduct ambushes.

They also attacked Luwere clinic where attack started inside clinic from members of employees that are Aturo themselves.

Also I think map is wrong since I didn't see one Aturo gunman and have passed that teritory there and back, less then a week ago.

I would also like to share some photos from that place. Idp camps where Aturo families reside who are in a valley below the mountain that their men have fortified themselves on... I can give picture of other things in Nuba mts as well. ~2026-49209-04 (talk) 16:17, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

The photos would be very helpful for wikipedia! You can do it via Wikimedia Commons. BorysMapping (talk) 17:59, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have good pictures though I wouldn't like to post them under my name. Can it be sent to someone instead?
Also, you sure UmDullu is definitely occupied by Aturo tribsmen? ~2026-49913-10 (talk) 20:25, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
