The result of this discussion was to merge Dom from Paris (talk) 10:18, 6 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Given how minor an event the SEA Games is (compared to the Olympics), it's very unlikely that enough coverage will be generated to sustain separate articles on such minute details. The "bid" article is currently sourced only to a local news site, which does not help establish notability. Paul_012 (talk) 03:43, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I agree. They should be merged. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 20:59, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

– Usually sport article in Wikipedia use official name (example UEFA Euro 2016), "SEA Games" is also WP:COMMONNAME and the style that used in logo. Hddty. (talk) 02:34, 19 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia has many article that use ambiguous but popular name that used in the logo (example World Series). The article also didn't imply watersports games because there's no other games titled "Sea Games". Keeping the title in favor of readers outside of Southeast Asia is kind of useless because majority of readers that come to these articles is from Southeast Asia or already know what "SEA Games" mean. The readers who don't know already can read the first paragraph: "The [year] SEA Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event..." Hddty. (talk) 11:41, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Per WP:COMMONNAME. "SEA Games" is the term most commonly used by reliable sources to refer to the subject. It outnumbers "Southeast Asian Games" by several orders of magnitude in the English-language news sites of the region. I don't see how "SEA Games" fails the Recognizability or Naturalness WP:NAMINGCRITERIA; a person familiar with the subject area would surely recognise the term "SEA Games", and editors could be reasonably expected to link to it. --Paul_012 (talk) 18:54, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

To add protection to the page

[edit]

The medal table keeps on being vandalized, and who knows what other stuff have been meddled with. Ryotanada142 (talk) 13:14, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the medal table keeps getting vandalized every half an hour, it feels like a nuisance. I even have to undo some edits as a result. I think this page should be increased in protection. WL Pro for life (talk) 15:59, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
So, the vandalism returns after almost a week of silence. Someone has to take action. Ryotanada142 (talk) 07:21, 16 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

The editors are not working on sporting disciplines

[edit]

I noticed that we don't have enough editors to call the SEA Games these days. We need to do something sbout this before the website ends next week. Carl DR 1995 (talk) 04:44, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

== Editors please update medal table Please update the medal table on the official 2025 SEA Games website. The previous official website incorrectly listed Indonesia's medal tally, initially 111 silver medals, but now 112 silver medals and 131 bronze medals, now 130 bronze medals. If you want to believe it, please check the official website directly!
