The result of the move request was: Not moved. Consensus is that this is not the primary topic for the term "$1 Million Challenge" and that base page will now be retargeted to Million Dollar Challenge — Amakuru (talk) 10:51, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
2024 $1 Million Challenge → $1 Million Challenge – Previous article at $1 Million Challenge has been moved to The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix, allowing for this move to a more concise title. ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 06:04, 24 February 2025 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). 162 etc. (talk) 18:03, 24 February 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. - Is this really sufficient disambiguation from the other articles at Million Dollar Challenge? 162 etc. (talk) 06:22, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Both articles seem to be talking about the same event, and should probably simply be merged, unless I'm overlooking something. TiggerJay (talk) 06:26, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Previously there was an article at $1 Million Challenge it is now at The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix. The article currently at 2024 $1 Million Challenge should be moved over what is now a redirect per WP:CONCISE. ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 06:38, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- From a second read of the LEAD this morning, it appears that the 2024 was just the first event held, and that the Grand Prix is designed to be an annual championship, so will we see a 2025 $1 Million Challenge? Or is the 2024 simply a one-off event, and subsequent events by the GP are going to have a different title? TiggerJay (talk) 17:20, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- No, there will not be a "2025 $1 Million Challenge", as the event has been renamed to "The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix This years race will be called "2025 Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix." ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 17:57, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

- Yes; the golf tourney and the psychic demonstration challenge have WP:NATURAL disambiguation. If anything, the poker program (which lasted two seasons during the height of the poker-on-TV fad) could be better disambiguated with (poker). But I see no reason why the unique (NATURAL) use of "$1" (which was stable with a hatnote with the previous article at $1 Million Challenge) warrants a challenge on those grounds at this time. ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 06:34, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

- This is not uncontroversial and deserves a full discussion. $1 Million Challenge should redirect to Million Dollar Challenge instead of any one event. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:38, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Again, "$1 Million Challenge" was stable as an article title for a year with no issues. Redirecting to the DAB would cause linking issues as well that would require extra cleanup. ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 17:56, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

- Respectfully, this challenge is ridiculous and for full disclosure I've posted about it at WikiProject: Motorsports ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 18:05, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose, or move to 2024 $1 Million Challenge (IndyCar). This is not the primary topic. Retarget $1 Million Challenge to the dabpage Million Dollar Challenge. 162 etc. (talk) 18:10, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

- Weak support Googling for $1 Million Challenge, the overwhelming reliable results redirect to the Indycar race. Second as the Ghost of Dan Gurney said, $1 Million Challenge was stable until it was changed because IndyCar changed the designation. So we could do the move, although I don't see nothing wrong with lefting the article as it is. I've seen another designation like "Indycar $1 Million Challenge", both on media , local news or in Indycar social media like their youtube channel.Rpo.castro (talk) 12:43, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose The proposed title is too generalised. 2001:8003:268E:A800:20DB:6BAE:EFC8:E945 (talk) 06:47, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- Weak support per nom and Rpo.castro. A hat note can be added for the “Million Dollar Challenge” DAB page. Frank Anchor 03:22, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose. The move of the article now at The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix does not automatically make the previous title $1 Million Challenge available for another article. A case needs to be made that this other article is now the primary topic, which is unlikely in view of a different article having been at the disputed name until recently. The nomination misses this point completely. Andrewa (talk) 06:04, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- This is the talk page of what is effectively a child article that - if not for my heeding of WP:NOMERGE reason No. 1 - could otherwise be merged into the very parent article (The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix) that you state was at the

name until recently. I don't know how I can make myself anymore clear on this point so that people stop misunderstanding this key element. ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 06:49, 18 March 2025 (UTC)- Also, it wasn't a nomination, it was a request at WP:RM/TR. If I had known it was going to be challenged, I'd have written a more thorough rationale instead of the edit-summary-style you see here. ―"Ghost of Dan Gurney" (hihi) 06:55, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- I think this is splitting hairs... when the RM was raised it became a nomination, and gave you the opportunity to expand the rationale, which you have done, but still without providing any valid rationale in my opinion. Andrewa (talk) 20:49, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- It seems to me that it is you who do not understand my !vote. But that's for the closer to determine. Andrewa (talk) 20:51, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
