I cannot believe so an error has not been caught yet: "with some estimates making it a very low F4" NO. The damage surveys put the tornado at a "minimal f3" And to my understanding that rating has been criticized for being to high. Yes, the damage to the Cash America building was bad, though it probably was hit head on with the worst winds. The tornado was definitely not that strong. Just google images from the Atlanta tornado and one will find the damage to be somewhat similar.

• I don't think there's a need to mention the state name after the city name, since all the cities mentioned are within the state of Texas.
• "On the afternoon of March 28" I think you can change to "Later that day", etc.

Renaming

@ChessEric: I agree that the title here ought to include the word "outbreak", since the article makes clear that there were ten tornadoes that hit the area that day. It looks to me, however, like "2000 Fort Worth tornado outbreak" is the standard sequence of ideas in the title for articles of this sort. When I look for other tornado and tornado outbreak articles with locations and years in the their names in Category:Tornadoes in Texas, which includes this article, I see 1902 Goliad, Texas, tornado, 1922 Austin twin tornadoes, 1997 Central Texas tornado outbreak, 1999 Oklahoma tornado outbreak, etc. They all seem to be structured <year> <location> <event>; I don't see a single one structured <location> <event> of <year>. -Bryan Rutherford (talk) 15:26, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

It does appear to focus primarily on this single tornado but the lead contains some background on the tornado outbreak of which this was a part. 2000 Fort Worth tornado outbreak § Other tornadoes contains a list of, well, other tornadoes which were... part of the outbreak?   The outbreak is primarily centered around the Fort Worth F3. Yeah there was another F3 tornado that struck Arlington, however the Arlington tornado did not injure or claim any lives. Meanwhile the main Fort Worth tornado claimed 2 lives, injured 80, and struck the downtown area of a city.

  Plus the article is styled more like a single tornado article with other tornadoes in their dedicated section. Quincy Gordon (talk) 23:50, 22 July 2026 (UTC)

  Not really, once again, the Fort Worth tornado is by a long shot the most well known and significant tornado of the outbreak. The article is very clearly mirrored after the main tornado that struck Fort Worth. I get that the synopsis goes in depth for the entire outbreak, and I admit this is a confusing case but considering its obvious structure, I think it should be moved.   The only other notable tornado in this outbreak was the Arlington F3, so saying multiple is incorrect. Also, that tornado caused 0 casualtiies and relatively minor damage compared to the main Fort Worth F3. TornadoEF4 (talk) 05:01, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
