Pokhemma

Pokhemma is a traditional food item of Nepalese Kirat ethnic. It is a type of boiled bean cooked without salt and used as an offering to ancestors in Kirat religious ritual. The food also has ritual association with the Kirat priests and their activities such as the Nakchhong that is carried out in the context of ancestral and spiritual observances.
