Peracetyl borate
Peracetyl borate is a chemical combining peracetic acid crystallised with acetic acid and sodium tetrahydroxyborate. (Na2B4O5(OH)4.•CH3COOH•2CH3COO2H.[1]
When it reacts with water, peracetic acid is released.[2]
Peracetyl borate is used to decontaminate biological[3] and chemical warfare agents,[4] and opioid contamination. It works by forming N-oxides that do not have the same physiological effect. It is found in a commercial product called Dahlgren Decon.[2]
