Nishikyushu Shinkansen

[edit]

@Durian Farmer I don't think either the line color or the icon you added for the line are correct. ja:日本の鉄道ラインカラー一覧#新幹線 states that the line doesn't really have a line color, which seems right to me. Regarding the icon by far the most common pictogram used on the line depicts the N700S Series trains (, , , , , ) that are actually used on the line, rather than the 800 Series train in commons:File:Shinkansen_jrk.svg from the main branch of the Kyushu Shinkansen. I did spot a stray 800 Series pictogram on the sign for the ticket office at Isahaya , but the 4th of 6 photos linked earlier shows the ticket office at Shin-Omura using the N700S pictogram. Notably the Japanese Wikipedia shows icons on the pages for every Shinkansen line except for the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen. Astro.furball (talk) 07:23, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I suspect the pink/red distinction between the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen and Kyushu Shinkansen came from this PDF from JR Kyushu that lists several of their trains: .
That said, this was the only place I could find where JR Kyushu made that distinction. Given that there doesn't even seem to be any Japanese source where they did the same, I agree that using the main JR Kyushu red color, as you have, makes more sense. ~2026-14250-67 (talk) 19:48, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
