Note to reviewers
[edit]I have a personal connection to the subject, declared on my user page, and I am submitting through AfC rather than creating the article directly for that reason. A few things that may save a reviewer time:
Notability. Shapiro's claim rests on two grounds. Under WP:MUSICBIO criterion 6 she has been a member of two independently notable acts: Little Joy, of which she was a founding member and co-vocalist, and the recording duo with Adam Green. Separately, the 2013 Rounder Records album Adam Green & Binki Shapiro received national reviews in Pitchfork, NME, BBC Music, AllMusic, PopMatters and Q, aggregated at 67/100 on Metacritic across 13 reviews. Coverage of her specifically — not merely of the bands — appears in Interview, Refinery29, American Songwriter, Dazed and Louder Than War.
This overwrites a redirect. Binki Shapiro currently redirects to Little Joy. I am aware that means the article needs to justify standing alone rather than being merged back, and I would rather a reviewer make that call than make it myself.
Date of birth. The draft gives April 30, 1985. A reviewer searching will find 1982 on Famous Birthdays and the sites that mirror it; that year is incorrect, and those sites are user-generated and not reliable sources under WP:BLPSOURCES in either direction. I do not yet have a published source for the correct date, so I have flagged it with {{citation needed}} rather than attaching a weak citation. I would ask that it not be replaced with the 1982 figure, which has no better sourcing and is factually wrong.
Tone. I have kept the draft to what published sources say, in neutral wording, and left out material I could not source independently. If anything still reads as promotional I would welcome the specifics and will fix it.
