Trinor Entertainment is a Danish video game developer based in Rødovre, Denmark. It was founded in 2022 by Philip Wittendorf, Bjarke Frid, and Daniel Falk. The company name combines 'Trident' (tri), symbolizing the three founders, and 'North' (nor), representing its Scandinavian roots.
History
[edit]Trinor Entertainment was founded by Philip Wittendorf, who began researching game modifications in 2020. After conducting field research and interviewing hundreds of players, he identified demand for deeper standalone gaming experiences. Philip recruited Bjarke through a game development forum in April 2022, and Daniel joined through Bjarke's network. The three founders worked part-time on the project before committing full-time at the end of 2022.
In 2023, Trinor switched game engines after four months of development. The company expanded its team with interns and undertook external projects, including a game about coffee production displayed at the National Museum in Qatar. Trinor won the "Scope Your Business Programme" organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Trade Council. The company was recognised as an emerging growth venture in the Danish game industry at "Games for the Future" by the Minister of Culture and received support from the Danish Innovation Fund.
The company announced partnerships with Frederik Byskov, founder of esports organisation Astralis, and professional Counter-Strike player Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, who joined as minority investors and strategic partners.
