The Secret Life of Pets 3 is an upcoming American animated comedy film produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures. It will serve as the sequel to The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019), and the third feature film in the Secret Life of Pets franchise.

Production

In June 2022, in an interview on the Apple podcast The Gary and Kenny Show, Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri stated that a third The Secret Life of Pets film is in development.^[1] In April 2023, Meledandri revealed the studio was developing "a couple of scripts" set in the film series' universe.^[2] In June 2026 it was confirmed that Illumination has started development of the movie.^[3]^[4]
