Sprii is a Danish software company headquartered in Aarhus that develops software for livestream shopping. The company was founded in 2021 as Easy Live Sales, also known as ELISA, and changed its name to Sprii in September 2023.[1][2] Its software is used by retailers to conduct sales through live video and social media platforms.[1]

History

Sprii originated during the COVID-19 pandemic, when a clothing shop in Holstebro owned by the parents of co-founder Christian Vester began using Facebook live broadcasts to sell products while physical retail was restricted.[3] Around the same period, brothers Nikolai and Rasmus Aas Pedersen developed software to automate the handling of customer orders made through comments during live broadcasts.[4]

Vester founded the company in Aarhus in 2021 with Nikolai Aas Pedersen and Rasmus Aas Pedersen under the name Easy Live Sales.[1][5] In September 2021, the company received investment from Nordic Makers and Brightfolk, an investment company associated with businessman Anders Holch Povlsen.[6] According to Finans, Povlsen and other investors had invested more than DKK 40 million in the company by 2023, while the Bestseller-affiliated holding company Heartland held between 25 and 33 percent of the company.[1]

The company reported losses during its early years. It recorded a deficit of DKK 11.8 million in 2021 and DKK 6.2 million in 2022. Finans reported in July 2023 that the company was shifting its focus towards the Swedish market.[7] DetailWatch reported in August 2023 that the company's customer base had doubled during 2022 to approximately 1,700 businesses.[8] The company subsequently reported a loss of approximately DKK 7 million for 2023, its third financial year.[9]

In September 2023, Easy Live Sales changed its name to Sprii.[1][2][10] The company reported that its software had facilitated approximately DKK 1 billion in sales since its founding and that it had customers in several European countries.[1] In the same year, it received the award for best e-commerce tool at E-handelsprisen, an award presented by the Danish Chamber of Commerce.[11]

Sprii expanded its operations in Norway during 2023 and 2024. In November 2023, it announced a partnership with Norwegian e-commerce platform Mystore.[12] DetailWatch reported in November 2024 that the company had approached 100 Norwegian retail partners.[13] Its expansion into the United Kingdom was reported in October 2024 by City A.M.[14]

In June 2026, Meta Platforms included Sprii among several live-commerce platforms whose sellers' livestreams could be converted into advertisements on Facebook and Instagram in the United States.[15]

Sprii develops software that allows retailers to conduct live sales through social media and websites. The platform supports livestreams on Facebook and Instagram, as well as broadcasts embedded on retailers' own websites.[1] Customers can indicate interest in products through comments, with the software facilitating subsequent checkout.[1]

The platform also supports the "yes please" (ja tak) sales format, in which customers reserve products by commenting on social media posts.[1] It integrates with the e-commerce platform Shopify.[16]
