Singa is a Finnish digital karaoke streaming service headquartered in Helsinki. The company provides karaoke both for home use by consumers and for professional use in bars, entertainment venues, and other hospitality businesses.

History

[edit]

Singa began operations in 2015.[1] The company's chief executive officer and one of its founders is Atte Hujanen, who is also known as one of the founders of the startup event Slush.

In 2017, Singa raised €1.75 million in seed funding led by the British venture capital firm Initial Capital. Other participants included Tamares Holdings, Superhero Capital, Reaktor Ventures and Tekes.[2]

In 2025, Singa signed a licensing agreement with Warner Music Group, adding original artist recordings to the service. The same year, the company entered into a partnership with Merlin, which represents about 15 percent of the world's music through independent record labels.[3]

In 2026, Fast Company named Singa one of the ten most innovative music companies of the year.[3]

Service

[edit]

Singa operates in 2,000 karaoke venues across 34 countries and has more than two million registered users.[3] The service is available through a desktop web browser, as iOS and Android applications, and as Apple TV and Android TV applications.[2]
