[edit]Development
[edit]In September 2024, a team-up film centered on the DC Comics characters Bane and Deathstroke was revealed to be in development at DC Studios for their franchise the DC Universe (DCU), with Matthew Orton writing the screenplay.[1] In December 2024, filming was reported to be taking place in 2025 at DC Studios' production hub at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England.[2][3] In February 2025, DC Studios co-chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran confirmed that "something kind of like" a Bane and Deathstroke film was in development. Safran said it was a "big action movie". They were waiting for Orton to hand in a completed screenplay,[4][5] which had yet to be turned in by May 2026, when the studio was meeting with several potential directors, including Greg Mottola. He was one of the frontrunners to direct, after previously directing some episodes for the second season of the DCU television series Peacemaker (2025). Orton was expected to perform a rewrite for Mottola if he were hired, but the film remained in early development.[6] DC Studios was reportedly prioritizing the film by the end of June.[7] Following the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance in October 2026, the title was revealed as Savage Hunters.[8]
Filming
