Rakeem Joseph (born 23 May 2000) is a US Virgin Islands soccer player who plays as a centre forward for Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division club Old Road.[1] Born in Antigua and Barbuda, he represents the US Virgin Islands national team and is their all-time top goalscorer.[2]

Club career

Rakeem Joseph has spent a large portion of club career playing for clubs in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division. He had two spells playing for Empire between 2015–2018 and 2019–2024 respectively, and he was the league's top goalscorer during the 2019–20 season with 10 goals. He joined Aston Villa (St. John's) in 2024 and he scored 7 goals for the club during the 2024–25 Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division season.[1]

He joined CAPA in the United States Virgin Islands during their inaugural season as a club, and he won the 2025 USVISF Premier League (St. Croix Division) with the club.[3] He then moved back to the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division with Old Road, scoring 36 goals during the 2025–26 season as the league's top goalscorer,[4] and he broke the record of the most goals scored in a single Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division season set by Conrad Whyte with 26 goals for Empire during the 2001–02 season.[5] During the season, he notably scored ten goals during the 14–0 victory against Jennings United on 25 April 2026.[6]

International career

Born in Antigua and Barbuda, Joseph represents the US Virgin Islands national team.[1]

He made his debut for US Virgin Islands on 9 September 2018 during the 8–0 loss against Canada during 2019–20 CONCACAF Nations League qualifying.[7] He scored his first goal for US Virgin Islands on 17 October 2023 during the 2–1 loss against the Cayman Islands during 2023–24 CONCACAF Nations League.[8]

He scored a hat-trick against the Marshall Islands on 14 August 2025 which saw him become his country's leading top goalscorer with five goals.[9] He was also included in the squad for the 2026 FIFA Series: Puerto Rico.[10]
