RTX A/S, previously known as RTX Telecom, is a Danish technology company that specialises in the design and manufacturing of wireless communication solutions, with a strong focus on DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology. RTX operates as an original design manufacturer (ODM) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and partners with global B2B brands.[2][3]
RTX is headquartered in Nørresundby near Aalborg, Denmark, with additional offices in Hong Kong, the United States, and Romania.[1]
History
[edit]RTX was founded in 1993 in Nørresundby, Denmark. In 2000, RTX was listed on the Danish stock exchange, Nasdaq Copenhagen, under the ticker symbol RTX.[4] In 2012, the company changed its name from RTX Telecom to RTX.[5]
Throughout the years, the company expanded and opened offices in San Diego, USA, in 2004, in Hong Kong in 2006, and in Romania in 2025.[1] Today, RTX employs more than 300 people across its global offices.[1][6]
Business units

- Enterprise
The development of DECT- and VoIP-based communication systems, including headsets, handsets, base stations, repeaters, location gateways, and advanced cloud-based tools. These are used in professional environments such as offices and call centres, retail, hospitality and restaurant sectors, logistics centres and warehouses, manufacturing and production sites, secure facilities, as well as in hospitals and the healthcare sector. These enterprise systems have a scalable, modular design allowing them to deliver high-quality communication in demanding industrial environments, including equipment certified as explosion-proof and/or waterproof.
- Healthcare
RTX delivers wireless communication infrastructure that can integrate seamlessly and reliably into high-tech medical devices, including patient monitoring equipment and bed monitors. RTX solutions are available in the WMTS and ISM communication spectrums. RTX aims to expand options for portable monitoring equipment, faster transitions from hospital to home, better treatment outcomes, and faster access to information for healthcare professionals.
- Professional Audio
Design and development of wireless sound solutions, delivered as market-ready modules, allowing customers to integrate them directly into their own products for faster market access. The modules ensure low latency and a robust wireless connection. They are often used in belt packs, wireless intercom headsets, and microphones in environments such as sports, entertainment and live events, as well as heavy industry and construction.[7]
Customers
[edit]RTX delivers white-label solutions to global customers. Due to the nature of its ODM/OEM model, many end products that use RTX technology display the customer's branding rather than RTX's name.[2][8]
Products and solutions
[edit]The company's technologies support protocols including DECT, VoIP, LTE, 2.4 GHz, CAT-iq, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and proprietary RF standards, depending on the application.
RTX has developed patented methods for harsh environments and owns the following registered trademarks: Sheersound®,[9] Sheerlink®,[7] and TeamEngage®.[10]
RTX was previously involved in the development of wireless capabilities for PS3- and Xbox-consoles [citation needed] as well as telephones for Skype.[11]
