Polivoz is an Ecuadorian civic technology platform and social networking service. It functions as a reporting system for citizen participation and community issues. The platform was launched on October 15, 2025, by Ángel Ricardo Rivera Castro.[1][2]

The application acts as a communication channel between citizens and public entities in Ecuador. It is designed to route citizen reports regarding local infrastructure and security to corresponding authorities.[3]

Background

[edit]

Polivoz was developed as an alternative to traditional social media platforms for the purpose of institutional management.[4] The mobile application for iOS and Android was officially released on October 15, 2025.[1]

Features

[edit]

The platform utilizes several tools for civic data collection:[1]

  • A heat map utilizing GPS to identify the parish, neighborhood, and street intersections of reported incidents.[3]
  • Georeferenced categorizations for specific urban events, such as traffic collisions or municipal waste accumulation.
  • An option for anonymous reporting, which hides the user's identity while logging the geographical location of the event.[1]
  • A geographical filtering system that sorts data by province and local jurisdiction.

Philanthropy

[edit]

In December 2025, POLIVOZ S.A.S. partnered with the "Vivo por ti" Foundation to provide assistance to children in communities of the Shuar ethnic group (including Charip, Natemtsa, Nantip, and Tayuza) in the Morona Santiago province of the Ecuadorian Amazon.[5]

Technical infrastructure

[edit]

The platform's mapping system is built on multi-scale geohash clusters to organize geographic data and render report volumes in concentrated areas.
